Free WiFi in Prague

Accessing the internet in Prague is free in many places, so finding a place to connect to Wi-Fi in the Czech capital shouldn’t take very long.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge in Prague in numerous public places.

Here are several examples:

  • Vaclav Havel Airport Prague: sign up for Wi-Fi on prg.aero-free . The network is free 24 hours a day and available throughout the airport.
  • Shopping centres: you’ll be able to connect to Wi-Fi at Palladium , Kotva , and Atrium Flora , My Národní , and on the third floor of the Nový Smíchov shopping centre.
  • The Municipal Library in Prague (Central Library, Mariánské náměstí 1, Prague 1 – Old Town): connect to the mestska knihovna network; free access is available during the library's opening hours (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Access is limited during the summer holidays.
  • New low-floor trams are increasingly common and offer free Wi-Fi to passengers. A Wi-Fi sticker on the door shows that Wi-Fi is available on such trams.

Warning: If you've connected over a public Wi-Fi network, you should avoid browsing confidential information such as your online banking.

Most Prague cafés and restaurants offer their own Wi-Fi connections. Access is with or without a password, which can easily be found on the menu. If you can’t find the password anywhere, ask a member of staff.

If you need urgently need a connection, you can connect to Wi-Fi for free in almost every fast food outlet in Prague (McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Subway…). Please note that you must agree with the terms and conditions governing use of such a network.

if you’re still unable to connect (although in our opinion, this scenario is highly unlikely), ask at the reception of your accommodation. All hotels and hostels in Prague offer this connection to their guests.

But try to get about Wi-Fi even for a little while, open your eyes, and enjoy the magic of the Czech capital :-)
