Climate and weather in Prague

The Czech Republic is a country with a continental climate. This means that it is cold in winter and hot in summer. In summer, there can be significant temperature differences: it is relatively cool in the morning and evening but very hot during the day. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant seasons.

However, it is difficult to give precise weather forecasts due to the frequent temperature inversions. The average temperatures given below are for information purposes only.

What is the best time to visit Prague?

Is there really a best season to visit the city of Prague? In summer? When the days are warm and sunny and all the outdoor terraces are open? In the middle of autumn? If you want to avoid the crowds of tourists and enjoy the city of Prague in beautiful colours? In winter, to see the snow-covered roofs of the city and experience the magic of the Christmas and New Year’s Eve period? Or in spring, to walk in the parks and discover the sublime flower gardens?

In short, as you will have understood, for us, each season has a unique and particular charm. It’s up to you to choose which one you want to discover!
