Art Nouveau
Prague is known for its rich heritage of Art Nouveau architecture, which developed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. One of the most famous Art Nouveau monuments in Prague is the Municipal House, which was built in 1912 and still serves as a cultural centre. Other important Art Nouveau buildings are the Čechův Bridge (Čechův most), which crosses the Vltava River and connects the Letná area with Josefov, and the Villa Bílek, which was designed for the painter František Bílek. These monuments are evidence of a rich Art Nouveau history that is still an important part of Prague’s cultural heritage.
