Maitrea is one of the zen vegetarian addresses in Prague's Old Town. It's the ideal place for anyone looking for vegetarian food in an elegant, hushed atmosphere.

Looking for inspiration or spirituality? The Maitrea restaurant offers high-quality vegetarian cuisine in a 100% Feng Shui interior.

Everything here meets the requirements of this ancestral art designed to balance the energies of a place with those of its occupants. The decor is undoubtedly a great success – a harmonious blend of Asian touches with furniture of organic shapes – and the result of the joint work of several Czech artists (sculptor, designer, architect, etc.) during the 3 years it took to rebuild the building.

Sit down and order one of the many dishes from the à la carte menu (burritos, lasagne, pasta, chilli, burgers, etc.) or the daily menu available at lunchtime on weekdays (starter and main course accompanied by a glass of water for around EUR 8 – as of August 2023).

The originality lies in the reinterpretation of traditional Czech dishes with a vegetarian twist. The recipes are classic, but the flavour is great, thanks to the vegetables being cooked to retain all their goodness. The wine list, all organic, is particularly extensive, with a vast choice of wines from Moravia, France, Spain, Chile and South Africa.

In the basement, the restaurant also has a larger room with a designer fireplace, cream tones, light wood and rounded shapes, a cocoon in which to indulge in a meal.
