El Centro

This is Prague's oldest restaurant specialising in Spanish cuisine. It has been in existence since 1999 and is run by the Neruda couple. The talented chef, Oscar Caceres Ruiz, has succeeded in recreating a small island of his native country right next to Our Lady of Victory with the Infant Jesus of Prague and Maltézské náměstí Square. Traditional Spanish cuisine is served in a family atmosphere, with the warm colours of the walls adding a particularly welcoming touch. The dish not to be missed at El Centro is paella: you can choose from a number of variations, including chicken paella or seafood paella (mussels, prawns and squid). The entire dish owes its golden colour and inimitable flavour to Spanish saffron. Meat lovers will particularly enjoy the "El Centro" kebabs with their beef, pork and chicken cuts, or the chicken pepitoria, served with an almond sauce and rice. The highlight of your Spanish-style meal will undoubtedly be a crema catalana, a succulent cream covered in a layer of caramel.
