Home Kitchen Holešovice

Two letters and a table separating them: it's a logo that's hard to miss. And in the Czech capital, since 2009, it has been synonymous with tasty cuisine prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The Home Kitchen restaurant, in the Holešovice district, is the second in a chain of four establishments that share not only their name, but also their small premises and a succinct menu that changes daily and is always suitable for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. But Home Kitchen is not a franchise, and the restaurants are run by a team that grows over time, led by chef Mirek Strakoš. The most popular dishes include aubergine in a variety of preparations, hearty soups and desserts such as žemlovka (an apple and cottage cheese cake), sabayon turnovers and fruit knödels. As for long-cooked meats, they are certainly worth the diversions, whether it's a stewed dish or a confit: their flavour lingers on the palate for a long time. Some of the ingredients used at Home Kitchen come from local producers, the rest from the restaurant itself, which strives to supply its own production, with, for example, a delicious homemade lučina (fresh cheese).
