Usually you can buy stamps at a newsagent’s ( trafika ), a shop or often a kiosk. Bear in mind, however, that you won’t find them at a trafika in a city centre.

If you want to send a postcard or letter (weighing up to 50 g):

  • anywhere in the Czech Republic , you’ll need a  category A stamp, which costs CZK 19 / approximately EUR 0.80;
  • to European countries , you’ll need a  category E stamp, which costs CZK 39 / approximately EUR 1.60;
  • to countries outside Europe , you’ll need a  category Z  stamp, which cost CZK 45 / approximately EUR 1.80.

Post boxes are painted a vivid orange, making them easy to spot. You’ll find them at various locations in Prague, especially by the entrances to post offices. There are also post boxes at Pařížská Avenue 3, just a few metres away from our office, and opposite the main entrance to the Municipal House.
