A privately-run attraction devoted to modern and contemporary art, the Montanelli Museum is in the very heart of Prague, on Nerudova Street, close to Malostranské square. The museum doesn’t have a permanent collection but stages regular exhibitions by Czech and international artists. Both established contemporary artists and representatives of the young art scene are showcased. Exhibitions are held regularly and always run for approximately three months. The museum also arranges guided tours and workshops for children.

Lesser Town

Ideally, you should visit the museum after a tour of Prague Castle. Then, go down into the centre via Nerudova. This street offers an opportunity to explore magnificent palace architecture and houses adorned with Baroque sculpture. And there are plenty of opportunities to stop off at several attractive cafés and restaurants.
