Where? Hradčany

From the Pražský hrad (Prague Castle) tram stop, served by tram numbers 22 and 23, U Prašného most lies just a few steps away and leads to Prague Castle, which lies across the Deer Moat (Jelení příkop). The Baroque facade of the Prague Castle Riding School, which dates from the end of the 17th century, almost entirely occupies one side of the street.
From the mid-20th century, the Riding School has been given over to exhibitions, with a focus on Czech visual arts and architecture, and the history of the Czech lands. In recent years, exhibitions have been staged about Josef Čapek and Olbram Zoubek. Others include “My Country – a Tribute to Czech Landscape Painting”, and “Castles and Rediscovered and Celebrated”.

The pleasant café inside the Riding School also has some outdoor tables, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or the attractive view of the Riding School terrace. Located on the site of the original summer riding school, the terrace is on the roof of the garages and car repair workshops of the Office of the Czech President.
