Historic Tram Ride in Prague

If you want to see what life was like in Prague at the turn of the 20th century, take a trip through the historic centre of town in a vintage tram No 41 or No 42. You can board the tram and get off at any of the stops.

Regular tickets are not valid for these trams.

Historic tram No 42

This line runs through the city center at 40-minute intervals and operates year-round, every day, approximately from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The route of the tram No 42:

Dlabačov – Pohořelec – Brusnice – Pražský hrad (Prague castle) – Královský letohrádek – Malostranská – Právnická fakulta – Čechův most – Dlouhá třída – Náměstí Republiky – Masarykovo nádraží – Jindřišská – Václavské náměstí – Vodičkova – Lazarská – Národní třída – Národní divadlo (National theatre) – Újezd – Tyršův dům – Malostranské náměstí – Malostranská – Královský letohrádek – Pražský hrad (Prague castle) – Brusnice – Pohořelec – Dlabačov

We are happy to arrange tickets for tram 42 for you, so do not hesitate to contact us. You can also buy them from the controller on board, or at the tourist information centers (12 Rytířská Street in Prague 1 or at the Old Town Hall in Prague: 1 Old Town Square, Prague 1).

Tickets:

  • Full fare: 400 CZK / environ 16 EUR (as of April 2024)
  • Reduced fare: 300 CZK / environ 12 EUR (as of April 2024)
  • Free for children under 5 years old

Reduce fare apply to children from 6 to 15 years old, to students up to 26 years old, registered disabled persons and pensioners aged 65 and older.

These tickets are valid all day and can also be used for the tram No 41 and the retro bus K.

Historic tram No 41

The line operates during the tourist season (approximately from April to to the end of December) on weekends and public holidays from about 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It runs at intervals of about 80 minutes, and a part of its route goes through the city center.

The route of the tram No 41:

Vozovna Střešovice – Brusnice – Pražský hrad (Prague castle) – Královský letohrádek – Sparta – Letenské náměstí – Kamenická – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Veletržní palác – Výstaviště – Planetárium Praha – Výstaviště – Veletržní palác – Strossmayerovo náměstí – Nábřeží Kpt. Jaroše – Čechův most – Právnická fakulta – Malostranská – Královský letohrádek – Pražský hrad (Prague castle) – Brusnice – Vozovna Střešovice

You can purchase tickets for the tram 41 from the controller on board.

Tickets – one-way fare:

  • Full fare: CZK 150 / approximately EUR 6 (updated in October 2025)
  • Reduced fare: CZK 100 / approximately EUR 4 (updated in October 2025)

Reduce fares apply to children younger than 15, children in pushchairs, students up to 26, registered disabled persons and pensioners aged 65 and older.

Handy tips

If you’re part of a group (up to 60 persons), you can hire the tram for a private function and enjoy an unusual experience. The tour will take you back in time several decades. Prices and conditions are available on request.
