How to get from Prague airport to the city center?
Once you have arrived at Prague airport, there are two ways to get to downtown Prague or your hotel:
1) To get to your hotel comfortably, we offer an airport → hotel transfer with a private car or a minivan, if there are more of you. The driver will be waiting for you at the exit of the terminal with your name indicated on a sign board. It takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown Prague. If your plane is delayed, don't panic! The drivers are informed in real time of any changes in flight schedules.
2) You can also use public transportation, but we prefer to warn you that this will require more energy! Prague airport is not served by the metro.
When you leave the terminal, take trolleybus no. 59 in the direction of Nádraží Veleslavín, which is also the terminus where you will get off. The metro station (Nádraží Veleslavín) is located right in front of the bus stop. Then take metro line A (green line) in the direction of Depo Hostivař (or Skalka) to reach the city center. It takes about 45 minutes to get to downtown Prague. To find out how to buy your transport ticket, check out our article on public transport tickets in Prague.
From the terminal 1, you can also take the Airport Express (AE) shuttle bus, which runs every day at regular intervals. It serves the following stops: Terminal 1, Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky) – only between midnight and 5 a.m., and Main Train Station Prague (Hlavní nádraží). For the direction from the city center to the airport, you can board at the Main Train Station Prague (Hlavní nádraží) or at the Republic Square (Náměstí republiky) (if you travel at night) and get off at Terminal 1 but also at Terminal 2. The price of the ticket is 100 CZK / about 4 EUR (as of December 2024) and you can buy it from the driver. Please note that it is valid only on this AE line.
