Highlights

* Visit medieval Kutná Hora, east of Prague and only one hour away from the capital by minibus. The small medieval town has an excellent collection of well-preserved monuments and is on the UNESCO cultural heritage list.
* The price includes minibus to and from the destination, departing from Prague, admission to St Barbara’s Cathedral and Sedlec Ossuary. The excursion is arranged by one of our partner firms.
* The accompanying guide always conducts the tour in English, with subsequent translation into two another languages, i.e. French, Italian, German or Spanish, depending on the tour group.

Main description

Kutná Hora was founded in the Middle Ages and stands on the site of an extensive network of silver mines. In the 14th century it was, after Prague, the second most important town in the Kingdom of Bohemia, and Kutná Hora flourished until the 16th century. The town’s most beautiful sights date from this golden – or rather silver age.

Among other sights you’ll see the majestic Cathedral of St Barbara, the patron saint of miners, considered a shining example of Bohemian Late Gothic. You can see traces of the Middle Ages at every turn, such as at the underground chapel of All Saints Church, which is also known as Sedlec Ossuary. The decoration, made from skulls and bones, is a strong reminder of the transience of human life…
