Calling Abroad from Prague

To call the United Kingdom from the Czech Republic, use the national dialling code, 0044 or +44, and then the area code, without the initial 0, followed by the phone number.

To call Ireland from the Czech Republic, use the national dialling code 00353 or +353, and then the area phone number, without the initial 0. You will be charged according to your tariff.

Handy tips

  • The national dialling code for the Czech Republic is +420 (or 00420).
  • Czech telephone numbers have 9 digits; mobile numbers start with 6 or 7 and land lines with the 2, 3, 4 or 5, depending on the region.
  • As of 15 June 2017, within the European Union, roaming charges telephone calls, text messages and surfing the internet are abolished.
