Disabled tourists in Prague

At Prague Airport

For your arrival in Prague and for your return to your country, Prague Airport has a free assistance service for people with reduced mobility. If you request it from the airline company you are travelling with, an airport agent will be waiting for you with a wheelchair when you exit your plane and when you board your flight home. For more information, you can visit the Prague Airport website.

Transfer from Prague airport to the city center for visitors with reduced mobility

To reach the city center from the airport, we offer you a car adapted to the visitor's degree of disability and the size of his or her medical equipment.

For a folding wheelchair, a transfer in Škoda sedan will be sufficient as long as the chair can fit in the trunk of the car (supposing the size of the suitcases is reasonable). If the visitor is equipped with an electric wheelchair, we can request an external service provider who has a vehicle equipped with an access ramp.

If the visitor has the possibility to be equipped with a manual folding wheelchair, we strongly recommend it. It will be more convenient and manageable during the whole stay in Prague.

Hotels in Prague for visitors with reduced mobility

In Prague, many hotels are equipped with rooms adapted for visitors with reduced mobility. They all have elevators and rooms with equipped bathrooms (wide doors, shower chairs or folding chairs integrated directly into the shower, metal bar fixed to the wall...). We can contact them at any time to organize your stay in Prague.

Guided tours of Prague for visitors with reduced mobility

If you want to discover Prague in a relaxed way, we recommend a private guided tour with an English speaking guide, who will organize a visit according to your expectations and possibilities. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information and rates.

If you are interested in attending a concert, show, cruise or any other event in Prague, our team members will contact the provider directly to find out more about the conditions of access and any other information you may need to know. We always try to find a solution for every situation!

Accessibility to the city of Prague for people with reduced mobility

The historic center of Prague is accessible to people with limited mobility. However, beware of the many small cobblestone streets and sidewalks in the Old Town, which can make it difficult to get around with a wheelchair.

Public transport in Prague for visitors with reduced mobility

Most buses and trams have adapted platforms and specially equipped trams run at fixed times. These vehicles are becoming increasingly common in Prague.

Information desks of the Prague Public Transport Company are located at the metro stations Můstek, Anděl, Hradčanská, Nádraží Veleslavín, Hlavní nádraží and Prague Václav Havel International Airport (Terminal 1 and 2).

The metro is not recommended as accessibility for disabled people is not yet very well developed (lifts are not installed in all stations in the city, and when they are, they are usually quite far from the main exit).

We advise you to take the trams, which are much more accessible (on average, one tram in two is equipped with an adapted platform).
